LobbyLync LCD Signage
Frequently Asked Questions
What screen sizes are available?
32” and 37”
Which LCD size is right for me?
For lobbies with viewing distances of 20ft or less, the 32" LCD is usually adequate. For viewing distances beyond 20ft, we suggest the 37" LCD. Users always have the option of increasing the font size or the photo size of the presentations to increase the ease of viewing.
How do I install the LobbyLync LCD systems? Is installation difficult?
Installation is easy. The LobbyLync LCD systems are designed as interior information signs to be set up by the end user in just an hour or so. For best results, we suggest that installation be accomplished with 2 people. Simply, remove the screen from the shipping box. Using 4 screws, attach the mounting bracket to the back of the LCD Display Signage. Then, set up your mounting platform (wall mount, table top, or free standing floor mount). Wall mounting requires that the wall bracket be securely fastened to a wood or steel structural member. This may require professional installation in some situations. Table top mounting requires limited assembly and a solid table, capable of supporting 50lbs. The floor mount requires some assembly (approx. 30 minutes) In all cases, you will also need close proximity to a 110 volt outlet. Once the mounting system is in place, lift the LCD into the bracket and gently slide it into position. Plug in the provided electrical cord to the LCD and run the other end to an outlet or extension cord.
How do I create the presentations?
We recommend using MS Powerpoint for building your digital signage presentations. LobbyLync includes several industry specific, PowerPoint “templates” that allows users to simply edit one of these presentations by inserting your own text information and photos into the fields currently displayed in the slides. You can also build your own slide show from the ground up if you have experience using MS PowerPoint. These slides need to be “static” slides without animation. Once the PowerPoint presentation is finished, just go to “Save As” and select file type JPEG. It will ask if you want to save just one or all of the slides - select all. It will then tell you that it’s saving these JPEGs to a folder on your PC. Navigate to the folder location and copy the folder to your SD card.
Can I display media other than jpegs?
Creating JPEG images from PowerPoint presentations is a convenient, fast and easy way to generate powerful and attractive images for your LobbyLync LCD Signage. The embedded media player does however, have the ability to process other music and video file formats making your LobbyLync system an LCD Video Display. Check the LobbyLync Specifications for a complete list. Contact LobbyLync if you have questions about these other applications.
